In 2010, while training for his second marathon, he stepped on the mat for the first time and never stepped off. Yoga saved his life, and he is happy to share his love and passion for the practice. Originally from Quito, Ecuador Bernie now makes Wauconda his Home. MEET MACKENZIE

Ardent for adventure and eager for a challenge, Mackenzie fled the mainland in search of something greater than herself. This journey immediately drew her to yoga and for two months she devoted her energy to self study through the eight fold path. She has spent the years since then as a dedicated student to the practice both on and off of her mat. By shedding that which no longer serves her and making room in her life to allow for positive change and growth, she is honored to spread health and happiness to those around her. Mackenzie has a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology from The University of Dayton, and finds this supplements both her private and group instruction by integrating and applying knowledge of the workings of the human body. Off the mat, Mackenzie enjoys creating raw food, exploring and hiking.

MEET KATIE

After Katie O’Shaughnessy was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder, she grudgingly went to her first yoga class. In the span of an hour, Katie fell head-over-heels for yoga. She became a certified RYT-200 instructor and health coach in 2016 to help others heal with yoga, body intuition, and real food. When Katie realized she could pair yoga with her love of the water, she about lost her mind. In 2017, she received her SUP yoga teacher training in Madison, WI, from Amelia Travis of Stoked Yogi, and she firmly believes that ending up in the water means you were brave enough to test your limits.
