FREQUENTLY ASKED

Q:  Cancellation Policy

A:  Standup and Flow has a 24-hour cancellation policy. If you cancel after the 24 hour window before class, you will lose the class and will not receive a refund.

If the class is canceled because of weather conditions, you will either be able to reschedule or receive a full refund.

Q:  I CANNOT SWIM. Can I still take classes or rent from Standup and Flow?

A:  Unfortunately, no. For liability reasons and for your own safety, we do not allow anyone who cannot swim out on the water.

Q:  Where do we go? Where do I park?

A:  We meet on the beach at Lindy’s Landing in Wauconda, IL. Their address is 115 Park Street, Wauconda, IL. Once you’re parked, look towards the right side of the building and follow the sidewalk until you’ll find us on the beach!

Q:  How early should we arrive?

A:  We are there at least 30-45 minutes before class. We recommend getting there AT LEAST 15 minutes before the class or rental start time. This give you enough time to check-in, go to the bathroom, put on sunscreen, etc. Classes start promptly at their scheduled start time. If you’re not there on time, we might launch without you.

Q:  I would like to bring my children, is there an age limit?

A:  Anyone 16 years or younger must be accompanied by an adult. Everyone 18 years or younger, must have an adult present to sign their waiver. There is no age limit to the yoga classes as long as the child can stay quiet and respectful to the other students. If any children become a safety issue or are disruptive to the rest of the class, you may be asked to paddle back in.

Q:  Is there a bathroom? An area to change?

A:  Yes! All Standup and Flow students have access to Lindy’s bathrooms. You can use the bathrooms to change in as well.

Q:  What should I bring?

A:  Wear whatever you feel most comfortable in as long as the fabric is moisture wicking. This could be a bathing suit, shorts, tank top, t-shirt, leggings, etc. Bring sunglasses but leave your expensive ones at home…if you fall in, your glasses might follow. Also bring sunscreen, a water bottle, a towel, and a change of clothes.

Q:  I’ve never done yoga or paddled before. Should I even come to class?

A:  Of course! That’s why we’re here. If you’re looking to just learn how to paddle, our Basic Paddle Lessons are designed for beginners to learn all of the paddle boarding basics. In terms of the yoga class, we’ve had plenty of students come without yoga or paddling experience and do great. If you’re nervous about it though but would still like to take a yoga class, then we do recommend taking the Basic Paddle Lesson first to acclimate yourself with a paddle board.

Q:  Is there a weight limit to the boards?

A:  Yes. Our boards are designed to support up to 250 pounds.

Q:  Will pictures be taken?

A:  Yes! Some instructors take pictures durning class and some only at the end. If you want a picture, make sure to ask your instructor after class. Your pictures will be uploaded within a week of your class. Click the link below to head over to our flickr page.

Q:  What else is there to do in Wauconda?

A:  Lots! First, we of course recommend having lunch at Lindy’s Landing after your class! You can eat on the beach, the patio, or indoors! If you’re looking for more to do, we are steps away from Wauconda’s main downtown area. There you have an amazing coffee shop, chocolate shop, small boutiques, bakeries, restaurants, and more!
